The aim of the landscape gardener in terms of territorial planning is to provide an overall view of a landscape and a territory. His task consists of landscaping both private
and public areas. His task covers not only the respect of environmental regulations, but he also assists the local authorities in developing their project. His rôle is to propose an urban
development that is both rationalized from the socio-economic view point and stable in terms of the environment. To do this, he assits with drawing up the town planning documents, by creating
an original landscape concept (public areas, gardens, street lighting). The landscape gardener can use skills in both the public and private spheres, where he either assists a main contractor
or he is the main contractor.
